Sales and Exporting
The Norfolk Fruit Growers’ Association has been in existence since 1906. It has done this by operating in a manner designed to best serve its growers and consumers. Exports have been the focal point of the Association since the outset when apples were transported in wooden barrels by rail to ships bound for Europe. Today we market our apples throughout Canada and the United States, and to the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America.
Apples grown and packed by Norfolk Fruit Growers Association continue to be marketed under the Norfolk brand.
In 2019 the NFGA entered into a milestone marketing agreement with Vineland Growers Co-Operative Limited making Vineland Growers the exclusive marketer for the NFGA’s fresh apple program. For over 100 years, Vineland Growers have distributed peaches, nectarines, cherries, plums, grapes and pears, all grown on family farms. The industry is becoming increasingly competitive and the need to create scale within the two businesses – two of the longest operating fruit organizations in Canada – will help to service the needs of our growers, packers and customers.
